Roggesloot

The Roggesloot is De Cockdorp’s lifeline and the eye-catcher of Texel’s northernmost village. The stream is named after the fish that swim around freely.

Even in 1875 you could still catch rays. Centuries ago it was a trench running from the Wadden Sea to the Slufter. Next to the ditch there were rises (humps) on which cattle could reach safety from the rising waters.  Holiday park De Krim is located on the Roggeslootweg. From hole 10 you can also see humps everywhere.

Just as ‘het durp’ (the town) of De Cocksdorp appears to float on the Roggesloot, so this trench is the  lifeline of the golf course and the regular companion of the golfer on the adventurous second nine of the Texel Golf Course.

Tip: The advice is simple here: not too short, a club higher.
