Hole 15
Lange Dam
The Lange Dam was a shifting dyke, built in 1855 as a connection between the Slufterbollen and the Eierlandse Duinen.
A few years later there was a major breach in the dunes. A new 400-metre-long dam was later designed to prevent flooding. This long par 5 runs through a dune area. The humps are thus the only obstacles apart from some water at the beginning. The fairway is in the middle of the golf course with enormous modulation of the rough left and right.
It’s a hole with a dog-leg. “If you then see the open fairway after that bend, that’s absolutely wonderful. Everything’s in that hole,” said bulldozer driver Fokke de Haan after completing his work.
Tip: A bit of a zigzag here. Start left of the middle, then cross over to the right side and an open shot remains to the green.
